Farmers compensate by taking loans from the state and central government. But sometimes it is insufficient. Now this state government has taken steps to help the economically weak farmers.
Relief given to 33 thousand farmers of UP
The Uttar Pradesh government has given a New Year gift to the farmers of the state. An order has been issued to waive off the loans of 33408 farmers of the state. According to media reports, State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that after the formation of the Yogi government in the year 2027, the cabinet had decided to waive off the loans of the farmers. The state government also waived the loans of many farmers. But some farmers were left out. Now the loan of those farmers is being waived off. The state government has issued a gazette in this regard on 5 January.
Loan up to one lakh rupees will be waived
The state government will waive off the loans of those farmers only. Who had taken a loan of one lakh rupees till March 25, 2017. Although the state government can release the list of farmers by the year 2023. The names of 80 lakh farmers are likely to appear in this. In such a situation, the state government has indicated that soon new farmers can also get loan waiver.
This is the eligibility for loan waiver
To take advantage of the loan waiver scheme of Uttar Pradesh, the state government has also fixed some conditions. For example, the person should be a native of Uttar Pradesh. Its benefit will be given to the marginal farmer having 5 hectares of land. Farming should be the source of income of the farmer. Unable to repay the loan due to poor financial condition. The period of taking the loan should be before the year 2016.
